Press Arrangements for the IAEA Board of Governors Meeting
The meeting of the IAEA Board of Governors is rescheduled to begin at 3.00 p.m. on the same day, Tuesday 9 August 2005 in the IAEA Boardroom C04 at the Vienna International Centre.
Photo-Op:
There will be a photo opportunity at the beginning of the afternoon. Please sign up by sending your e-mail to Cassio Furtado (C.Furtado@iaea.org, tel.: +43-1-2600-21271 or +43-664 878 1618). Camera crews should arrive at IAEA headquarters by 14:30 p.m. and proceed to the Boardroom on C04. Positions in the Boardroom must be taken by 14:45 a.m.
Press Arrangements for the IAEA Board of Governors Meeting
A meeting of the IAEA Board of Governors will be held on Tuesday, 9 August 2005 at 10:30 a.m. in the IAEA Boardroom C04 at the Vienna International Centre.
The meeting was requested by the Permanent Missions of France, Germany and the United Kingdom in a letter on August 4 to the Chair of the Board to discuss the implementation of IAEA Safeguards in Iran and related Board resolutions. The meeting is closed to the press.

Concerned by the increased threats posed by terrorism, more than 350 delegates from 80 States parties to the CPPNM will gather in a five day Conference beginning on Monday, July 4 that is expected to adopt additional measures, aimed at averting nuclear terrorism, smuggling and sabotage. The Convention is the only legally binding international agreement providing physical protection of nuclear material and ensuring improved security in the post 9/11 world.

A five day international conference that seeks to advance the goal of achieving cradle to grave control of radioactive sources will be held in Bordeaux, 27 June - 1 July, 2005.

A press briefing will be held on Monday, 20 June 2005, at 12.30 noon at the Vienna International Centre, Press Briefing Room C03, following the opening of the International Symposium on Uranium Production and Raw Materials for the Nuclear Fuel Cycle - Supply and Demand, Economics, the Environment and Energy Security.
The five-day symposium will focus on uranium resources: primary, newly mined and processed - and secondary, highly enriched uranium from dismantled nuclear weapons, existing stocks and other sources.

A meeting of the IAEA Board of Governors will commence on Monday, 13 June 2005, at 10.30 a.m. IAEA Director General Mohamed ElBaradei will open the meeting with an introductory statement. The Board will discuss, among other issues: the Annual Report for 2004; the Technical Cooperation Report for 2004; measures to strengthen international co-operation in nuclear; radiation and transport safety and waste management; and the appointment of the Director General.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), together with 61 of its Member States and 7 international organizations, has just successfully completed a 2-day exercise of radiological emergency plans. This test involved a simulated accident at the Cernavoda nuclear power plant in eastern Romania.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is coordinating a test of radiological emergency plans through a simulated accident at the Cernavoda nuclear power plant in eastern Romania starting on May 11, 2005. The exercise will be conducted over two days. The exercise is being carried out in co-operation with more than 60 IAEA Member States and seven international organizations in order to test national and international preparedness for a possible nuclear or radiological emergency.
