The meeting will discuss, among other issues: measures to strengthen international cooperation in nuclear radiation and transport safety and waste management; measures to protect against nuclear terrorism; strengthening the IAEA's activities related to nuclear science, technology and applications; and safeguards implementation issues.
The meeting is closed to the press.
Dr. ElBaradei's statement will be released to journalists after delivery and placed on the IAEA website at about 11:00 on Monday, 19 September 2005.
