Objectives
Objectives?
The purpose of the event is to review the progress made under the Coordinated Research Project (CRP) entitled "Deep Borehole Disposal - Progressing the Knowledge Basis to Support an Informed Decision and the Planning for Next Steps", and to make further progress on drafting deliverables.?The objectives of the event are to share updates on R&D conducted by CRP participants and to discuss how to further progress CRP deliverables. This would serve?to inform on the progress achieved on the range of R&D projects relevant to the DBD knowledge bases and to?to discuss and progress with a systems engineering analysis of a simple DBD configuration, and in particular to:?
- finalize a corresponding generic Material Breakdown Structure (MBS);
- progress a requirements analysis at all phases of the DBD system (DBDS) life cycle; and
- present and discuss a method to assess technological readiness for the DBDS.?
The participants will further?align the CRP R&D efforts with the outcomes of the technological readiness assessment (TRA), launch a discussion on the main topics to include with a DBDS field demonstration and?align the CRP R&D efforts with a draft comparative assessment and value proposition for geological disposal concepts, with a focus on the DBD concept.
Target Audience
The target audience for this event are the participants to the IAEA CRP T22003 with a specific interest in developing a methodological approach to assessing the relative technological and scientific maturity of the DBD concept and to structuring the RD&D needs accordingly.
