The purpose of the event is to review and discuss national and international experiences in the reuse and recycling of disused sealed radioactive sources (DSRSs), as one of the options for the safe and secure management of DSRSs. The participants will have the opportunity to learn more about and discuss strategies for reuse and recycling of many different types of DSRSs, problems encountered and lessons learned by DSRS owners, waste management organizations, radioactive source users and regulators. The event will raise awareness of and encourage the reuse or recycling of DSRSs as a practical and economic alternative for DSRS management.
