From Regulation to Clinical Practices: Ensuring Safety and Quality of Medical Radiological Procedures in Europe and Central Asia

This side event will present the status, good practices and common issues in the implementation of the International Basic Safety Standards, GSR Part 3, in the TC region of Europe and Central Asia, based on the analyses of information in the IAEA database RASIMS 2.0, TSA3, Radiation protection in medical exposure. A recent survey regarding the availability of medical physicists in the region and possible steps forward will also be presented. The final goal is to suggest ways forward for ensuring safety and quality of medical radiological procedures for the direct benefit of patients.
