The office coordinates and supports work to develop the IAEA safety standards and security series in cooperation with Member States, and to promote their use in Member States. It also works to strengthen international cooperation in nuclear safety and security, including by supporting networks such as the IAEA Global Nuclear Safety and Security Network. The office also develops strategy for cross-cutting areas and coordinates the development of nuclear safety and security documents and contributions to Agency-wide documents for the IAEA’s policy-making organs.
