Following the visit of staff from PACT and the Department of Technical Cooperation (TC) to the French National Cancer Institute in April, a return visit by "Physicien Médical sans Frontières" (PMsF), member of the Réseau Cancer, was organized by PACT at the IAEA in collaboration with the French Permanent Mission on 9 July. Representatives of  and Latin America Divisions and the Division of Human Health attended the meeting with Mr. Taisant, President of PMsF. The programme included a working lunch attended by H.E. Mr. Deniau, French Ambassador, Mr. Werner Burkart, Deputy Director General, Department of Nuclear Sciences and Applications and Ms. Ana Maria Cetto, Deputy Director General, Department of Technical Cooperation. It was agreed that a Liaison Committee comprised of representatives of the IAEA, the French Permanent Mission and PMsF for the Réseau Cancer would be established to take forward collaboration in francophone countries as a first step (in Africa: Senegal, Niger, Madagascar, Mali, Burkina Faso and in Latin America: Haiti). A policy level meeting could take place during the IAEA General Conference in September to consolidate relations between IAEA and INCa.
