H.E. Mr. Jean Marc Mpay, Ambassador and Resident Representative, Permanent Mission of the Republic of Cameroon to the IAEA, and Kwaku Aning, IAEA Deputy Director General and Head of the Department of Technical Cooperation, have signed Cameroon's Country Programme Framework (CPF) for the period of 2014-2018 on 23 September 2014. A Country Programme Framework (CPF) is the frame of reference for the medium-term planning of technical cooperation between a Member State and the IAEA and identifies priority areas where the transfer of nuclear technology and technical cooperation resources will be directed to support national development goals.
Cameroon has been an IAEA Member State since 1964. Its 2014-2018 CPF identifies 7 priority areas:
1. Food and Agriculture
2. Human Health and Nutrition
3. Radiation Safety, Nuclear Security, Safe Management of Radioactive Waste
4. Non-Destructive Testing
5. Environmental Protection and Monitoring of Public Exposure
6. Sustainable Energy Development
7. Water Resources Resources
