The main objective of the Application of Safeguards to Geological Repositories (ASTOR) Group of Experts is to support the IAEA’s objective to obtain credible assurance that nuclear material and technology associated with geological disposal activities are not diverted from peaceful nuclear uses.
?This will be achieved through the provision of technical expertise and support in the development of safeguards procedures, measures and technologies to apply safeguards at geological repositories and associated facilities.
The access to ASTOR site is restricted to participating Member State Support Programmes (MSSPs) and requires the approval of a corresponding MSSP Point of Contact.
