Press Arrangements for IAEA Board of Governors Meeting, Starting 26 November 2009

The IAEA Board of Governors will convene a regular meeting at the Agency′s Headquarters starting on Thursday, 26 November 2009, in "Boardroom A" of the M-Building, in the Vienna International Centre (VIC).

Director General Mohamed ElBaradei will open the meeting with an introductory statement. His statement will be released to journalists after delivery and posted on the IAEA website the same day.

Reports by the Director General on the Implementation of the NPT Safeguards Agreement and Relevant Provisions of Security Council Resolutions 1737 (2006), 1747 (2007), 1803 (2008) and 1835 (2008) in the Islamic Republic of Iran, and on the Implementation of the NPT Safeguards Agreement in the Syrian Arab Republic will be discussed.

Board discussions are also expected on issues related to IAEA′s Technical Cooperation programme, the Application of Safeguards in the Democratic People′s Republic of Korea (DPRK), and a fuel bank proposal by the Russian Federation, among others.

The meeting is closed to the press.
