Dr Tahani Abdalla Attia, Minister of Science and Communications, and Kwaku Aning, IAEA Deputy Director General and Head of the Department of Technical Cooperation, have signed Sudan's Country Programme Framework (CPF) for the period of 2015 - 2020 on 21 April 2015. A Country Programme Framework (CPF) is the frame of reference for the medium-term planning of technical cooperation between a Member State and the IAEA and identifies priority areas where the transfer of nuclear technology and technical cooperation resources will be directed to support national development goals.
Sudan has been an IAEA Member State since1958. Its 2015 - 2020 CPF identifies eight (8) priority areas:
1. Human resource development
2. Human Health
3. Agriculture
4. Nuclear Radiation Safety and Nuclear Security
5. Water resources
6. Energy
7. Industrial Applications
8. Instrumentation, Repair and Maintenance of Equipment
