A national workshop on ’Improving Nuclear Medicine Practices in Bahrain’ was successfully organized by the IAEA from 22-26 May in Bahrain, attended by about 40 participants from various stakeholder institutions in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The course facilitated intensive discussions, as well as agreement on follow-up actions to address shortcomings and future challenges in the application of nuclear medicine in clinical practice.
The Ministry of Health of the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain is continuing its efforts to upgrade health services in the Kingdom for all its residents through the introduction of the latest technologies in medical diagnosis and therapy. Special importance is being given to the training of radiation medicine workers, with the aim of maximizing the benefits of such technologies. The IAEA is supporting the Kingdom of Bahrain in this effort by assisting in developing the capacity and professional skills of national staff engaged with radiation medicine, especially in the clinical aspects of nuclear medicine and oncology.
