The World Nuclear University (WNU) is a global partnership committed to enhancing international education and leadership in the peaceful applications of nuclear science and technology. The University aims to strengthen education in nuclear science, engineering and law; promote public understanding of nuclear technology; and inspire and strengthen the development of a new generation of leaders for the nuclear industry. The WNU was founded in September 2003 with the support of the IAEA and three other international nuclear institutions: Nuclear Energy Agency (NEA) of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development; the World Nuclear Association; and the World Association of Nuclear Operators.

The WNU offers several training opportunities. The IAEA provides financial support to a limited number of participants from developing countries. Applications should be made directly at WNU website.

WNU Summer Institute

The WNU Summer Institute is an intensive six-week leadership development programme held annually in different locations. It offers dynamic lectures, invited leaders presentations, field trips to nuclear and industrial facilities, social events and team projects led by some of the world’s foremost authorities. These cover the global energy setting and sustainable development, technology innovations, international safety regime, economics and project structuring. WNU School on Radiation Technologies

The WNU School on Radiation Technologies (RT School) is a leadership development programme aimed at young professionals involved in the radiation field.

Selected applicants will develop a broad overview of the field of radioisotopes and radiation technologies as well as the main issues encountered by practitioners in this area. During the programme, participants will also enjoy the opportunity to develop a worldwide network of contacts of unique value to their current and long-term careers. Read more?→
