Description
This is the first webinar in the IAEA Webinar Series on the newcomers success stories in nuclear infrastructure development. It will be dedicated to the UAE successful nuclear power programme from its inception to the Barakah 1 start-up. The webinar will cover the following topics:
- Transparency policy and governmental support to the nuclear power programme;
- Regulatory Body approach adopted for building the required competence and licensing the first unit (Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation);
- Responsibilities of the owner organization in licensing and construction oversight (Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation);
- Developing the operating organization for commissioning to operation (Nawah Energy Company);
- Ensuring the sustainability of the programme in the long-term (Khalifa University).
