The IAEA Doubly Labelled Water (DLW) Database is a collection of energy expenditure measurements. These measurements, contributed by researchers worldwide, are obtained using the stable isotope method of doubly-labelled water analysis, as explained here. Multiple papers have already been published from this database and it continues to change the assumed knowledge on energy balance and metabolism. See here who is in the DLW management group.

New data submissions to the database are welcome, as well as requests to use the data to explore important research questions.
