The Czech Republic signs its second Country Programme Framework (CPF) for 2016-2021

Mr Petr Krs, Deputy Chairman of State Office for Nuclear Safety (SUJB), and Mr Dazhu Yang, IAEA Deputy Director General and Head of the Department of Technical Cooperation, have signed the Czech Republic's Country Programme Framework (CPF) for the period of 2016-2021 on 16 September 2015.

A Country Programme Framework (CPF) is the frame of reference for the medium-term planning of technical cooperation between a Member State and the IAEA and identifies priority areas where the transfer of nuclear technology and technical cooperation resources will be directed to support national development goals.

The Czech Republic has been an IAEA Member State since 1993, but the former Czechoslovakia was one of the founders of the IAEA in 1957.
Its 2016-2021 CPF identifies three priority areas:

1. Nuclear safety and nuclear power
2. Nuclear applications in health and science including radiation protection
3. Sustainability of nuclear institutions and knowledge management
